FAQ

What parents ask most.

Rising 1st through 6th graders. We split campers into smaller groups by age so the activities and pace fit.

9 AM drop-off at your selected camp's location (Nags Head families: Village Beach Club; Corolla families: see your location's contact page for the address). Then a mix of beach time, themed activities tied to the week's curriculum, group games, and a snack. 1 PM pickup at the same spot. Plenty of sunscreen reapplications in between. Specific drop-off / pickup logistics are sent in your registration confirmation email.

We're a half-day camp, so no — campers head home for lunch. New for 2026 we're piloting an optional lunch add-on; details coming soon.

A backpack with a refillable water bottle, sunscreen (already applied), a hat, swimsuit + towel under their clothes, water shoes, and a snack. Label everything.

Light rain — we keep going. Camp doesn't stop because the sky's gray. For thunderstorms or unsafe surf, we move to indoor backup activities or, in rare cases, cancel that day with a credit toward a future date.

No. The whole point of camp is being present. Counselors carry phones for emergencies — campers don't. If you need to reach your kid, call us.

Yes. Pick days that fit your trip, or book the whole season. The calendar shows daily availability — once a day hits the daily cap (default 25 campers), the waitlist opens automatically.

When a day fills up, you can join the waitlist for free. If a spot opens, we email you a private invite to register before the spot goes back to the public.

Full refund up to 14 days before camp. After that, we offer credit toward a future day in the same season. Specifics will be on the registration page.

Use the contact form, or email hello@obxsummercamps.com. We answer within a day during the season.
